25/06/2008 - PRE SEASON TRAINING START 1 JULY
Pre-season training starts Tuesday 1 July at 7.15pm at Cribbs. As it is our first session, and we are hoping to see a few new players come along, we will be providing some food afterwards.

There will be no training on Thursday 3 July, but thereafter training will continue every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the season, with Club night being Tuesdays.

We are keen to encourage new players, so please spread the word to your workmates, friends and family, and encourage them to come along and give it a try.

Note also that Trials Night, followed by a BBQ and our AGM, has been provisionally scheduled for Wednesday 3rd September, starting at 6.30pm. More details nearer the time.

Regards.

28/02/2008 - Training for 3rd & 4th Team
All,

We had a club committee meeting this week and, after listening to you guys, have managed to get the club to let us try training for the 3s and 4s separately from the 1s and 2s. Carl and I will be running a one hour session next Tuesday 4th March from 6.30-7.30pm - we'll pretty much go straight into 5/6 aside. The focus will be on improving ourselves technically and physically by having constructive and slightly competitive small sided games.

We know that training with the 1s and 2s, which mainly focuses on fitness and is more intense, is not ideal for all of us - Tuesday is just to gauge interest and see if we can take it forward. We can then have a beer and watch the Champions League games!

The 6.30-7.30 slot is the only one available at the moment. If the concept of separate training works well, we can look to sort a different day/time for next season.

Can you please make every effort to attend so that we can start to see more 3s and 4s at training.
Cheers
DDD and Tomo

09/12/2007 - Christmas Club Night Out - 15 Dec

As you should all be aware, AXA FC’s Christmas Night out is planned for this Saturday, 15 December 2007.

Itinerary is simple and as follows:-

  •    From 4.30pm – At Cribbs where we may even get the pool table out for those half of blackthorns/glasses of port for the winners and I hear that there may even be a loser stays on Millers Challenge competition with the first two in the chair being Lance & Fred
  •    From 7.00pm – We will be meeting in Stark which used to be called the Bohemia on the left hand side at the top of Black Boy Hill
  •    Those going from Cribbs, Taxi’s will be arriving to pick us up at 7.00pm to take us to Stark
  •    From then on we will roll down Whiteladies at a leisurely pace going in various establishments that are kind enough to let us in and serve us………

If you are going out straight from Cribbs then please let Lance (Justin Moore) know in order that he can ensure that you are booked a place in the chariots to Whiteladies Road.

Look forward to seeing plenty of you on Saturday night.

05/11/2007 - Club Night Out & Wet the Babies head...

Please note this is an official 'Club Night Out' so make every effort to get out for a drink even if you don't like Mr Hartley!!

Gents,

As the majority of you will be aware by now Megan Ruby Hartley was born on 9 October 2007 and, now things have settled down, I think it's about time that I went out and had a few beers to celebrate with my friends - Thanks to everyone who has bought cards, presents, flowers (obviously not for me!! ) etc, they are very much appreciated and thank you cards are currently in the process of being designed and issued!

I am planning on going out on Saturday, 17 November 2007 with exact venues/times to be confirmed nearer the time, however, we are likely to start somewhere on Whiteladies road after having a few beers at the club after football - Feel free to forward onto anyone else who may be interested.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing as many of you that can make it on the 17th and I'll be in contact again a few days beforehand in order to confirm venues/times.

17/10/2007 - Training Update

Training Update

AXA FC weekly footbal training will take place at Cribbs Causeway on the new astro turf surface. All club members are welcome, in fact encouraged!

Club night is Tuesday nights all welcome, training starts prompt at 7:30pm finishing at 9:00pm. The club is open as usual after training so would be good to see you in the bar as well as on the pitch!

The 1st XI will also train on Thursday nights again starting prompt at 7:30pm and finishing at 9:00pm.

As it is a new training surface you should wear your astro trainers if possible, alternatively you can were moulded boots. Please note, you will not be able to train on this surface wearing studs.

08/10/2007 - A Night at the Races
Below are details of a Race Night that will take place on Friday 19th October at Cribbs.

This is our first joint fundraising venture with Bradley Stoke United FC (BSUFC), and all profits will be split jointly between ourselves and BSUFC. It should be a very popular and enjoyable evening, and we need as many of you as possible to attend in order to generate funds for our 2 Clubs.

As you will see, it will be possible to sponsor individual horses for each race at £5 per horse. As well as having your name printed in the Race Night programme, this will give you the opportunity to win a tenner and a bottle of wine if your horse wins. There are 8 horses in each race, so we are looking for up to 64 sponsors from AXA FC (BSUFC are doing the same). Even if you can't attend on the night, you can still sponsor a horse, or several if you like, and therefore support your Club. You can also get friends and family to sponsor horses as well.

In order to gauge numbers, and to organise the horse sponsors, I therefore need the following information from you:

1. Will you be attending the Race Night?

2. Do you (or any of your friends and family) want to sponsor a horse for £5? If so, please provide the name of the owner(s), and the name(s) you would like to call your horse(s). If you don't provide a name, a suitable name will be provided for you! Money will be collected on the night, or afterwards from those not attending.

Can you please let me have your response by the end of next week, ie Friday 12th October.

Thanks.

Chairman, AXA FC
